Every hostel needs a niche, which is basically something that will make your hostel stand out from all the rest. This niche can be just about anything, but you may not want to make it too obscure or something that no one has any interest in.
A couple of good themes include:
- A Natural Setting: This niche can focus on activities that involve nature and the great outdoors.
- An Ocean Setting: This type of hostel can utilize oceanic décor while focusing on trips to beaches, aquariums, and more.
- The Wild West Setting: Everyone has dreamt about playing cops and robbers at some point in their life or watched at least one western movie, so why not turn part of it into reality. You can create a rustic, yet comfortable, setting and offer activities that include horseback riding and panning for gold.
The possibilities for your niche are almost endless, you just need to use your imagination and see what you can create that will make your hostel first on everyone’s list.
