Tip of the Week: Promote Hosteling in Your Community

Posted on September 27, 2018  •  One minute  • 156 words

Some people still think of hostels as run-down buildings that aren’t good for anything, which is why it is important to show your community how they have changed over the years. You should join your local Chamber of Commerce and attend local tourism events, so you can highlight the benefits of hostels for today’s travelers and the community that they are in. Spending time meeting with hotel associations is another good use of your time.

Since hostels often need special considerations, it is also a good idea to meet with your local politicians to remind them of how many tourism dollars each hostel brings to the community. Not many people realize how influential a hostel can be to a community, especially when numerous guests of that hostel recommend the area to other people they know and meet.

In fact, the increase of visitors to a community can improve the bottom line of everyone who lives there.
