List Your Hostel or Property

Backpackers Hostels Canada is a directory of independent, locally owned places to stay across Canada, built for backpackers and budget travellers. If you run one, we’d like to list it.

Who can list

• Independent hostels and backpacker lodges
• Campgrounds and hostel-campground combos
• Campus summer residences open to travellers
• Guesthouses and budget stays that welcome backpackers

$300 CAD, one time

A listing costs $300 CAD, paid once, and it stays up. No monthly fees, no renewals, no ad auctions. Updates to your rates, hours, photos and contact details are included. Just send them to us.

What we need from you

• At least 2 photos of your property
• Your address
• A phone number travellers can reach you on
• A description of your property and its location: rooms or sites, facilities, what’s nearby and how to get there

Your website and social links are welcome too.

Every listing is verified by hand

We check every submission manually before it goes live, confirming the property exists, the details are accurate and it’s a good fit for backpackers. Once your listing is approved, we’ll send payment details and publish it.

Your listing page includes:

• Photos and a description of your property
• Address, phone, website and social links
• Map location with one-tap directions
• A place in your province’s section of the hostel directory

Add a digital guidebook for your region (coming soon)

Coming soon: hosts will also be able to pay to offer a digital guidebook for their region, written for backpackers and featured with your listing. It covers where to eat, what to see and how to get around: the questions your guests ask at the front desk every day. It helps travellers plan a route through your area and gives them another reason to stay with you. Pricing will be announced when guidebooks launch.

Built so AI gets your details right

Travellers increasingly plan trips by asking AI assistants, and those tools often repeat outdated or wrong details about small properties. Every listing here publishes its address, phone, website and coordinates as standard structured data (schema.org), and the whole directory is summarized in a plain-text file written for AI tools. The details come from you, so when someone asks about your hostel, your region or a trip that passes through it, the answer is more likely to be accurate.
